High gloss modified polysilazane are suitable for use below 200°C EK-M05

EK-M05 has a pencil hardness of higher than 7H, high gloss and high fullness, and is suitable for paint protective coatings, voltage-resistant insulation coatings, wear-resistant and fire-retardant coatings, outdoor hydrophobic self-cleaning anti-aging coatings, skin-friendly and antibacterial insulation main paints, etc.

EK-M05 Introduction:

EK-M05 uses polysilazane as a film-forming substance, combined with other resins, including diluents, retarders, leveling agents and other additives.
It is used to solve the problems of room temperature construction and room temperature curing that are difficult to achieve for general metal coatings.
After curing, it forms a covalent bond with the substrate, greatly improving the mechanical strength of the coating through chemical bonding.

Applicable substrates:

Carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, high-temperature alloy steel, glass-ceramic panels, ceramics, cement, and other materials.

Note: Different substrates require different adhesive formulations. Within a certain range, the surface energy of the substrate can be adjusted to improve the adhesive’s affinity for the substrate. Under certain conditions, chemical bonding can also be achieved through amino groups.

Applicable Temperature:

Suitable for outdoor working conditions with operating temperature below 200℃ and short-term high temperature conditions of 300℃.
The temperature resistance of the coating will vary according to the temperature resistance of different substrates, and it is resistant to cold and hot shock.
(Note: the corresponding products of different substrates will be different).

Special Note:

This product is a one-component, self-curing product. Once opened, use the coating within four hours.
During extended application periods, tools should be cleaned to prevent them from caking.
It is recommended that the coating be applied in one coat, with a dry film thickness not exceeding 150µm. Otherwise, coating performance may be compromised.

Standard Application Procedure

Surface Cleaning → Roughening → Cleaning and Blowing → EK-M05 Treatment → Curing

Curing Method for Light-Curing Resin Coatings:

1. After spraying the board, lay it flat to allow it to defoam. After most bubbles have disappeared, if a few bubbles remain, it is recommended to remove them manually, as waiting is time-consuming.
2. Place the defoamed resin board flat in a UV curing machine at a distance of at least 15cm for 1 minute. After initial hardness, observe the hardness. If necessary, adjust the distance to approximately 3cm and continue curing for another 1 minute.
3. The UV curing lamp should have a dominant wavelength of 365nm or 405nm, and a power of 2kW is preferred.

Process Description:

1. Roughening: Before coating, polish or sandblast the substrate surface to remove rust, dust, and dirt adhering to the surface. Roughening significantly affects the coating quality. Ideally, Sa2.5 and St3 grades should be free of scale (GB/T 30790.4-2014), so please pay close attention.
2. Cleaning: Use a dedicated cleaning agent or degreasing agent to remove any remaining oil, dust, and other contaminants on the roughened surface.
3. Substrate Drying: Before coating, ensure the substrate surface is dry and clean.
4. Paint Mixing: This product is a single-component product. Filter through a 120-mesh filter as needed.
5. Paint Application: Laboratory spraying with a 1.0-caliber spray gun provides optimal appearance and uniformity. The cured coating exhibits a certain degree of hydrophobicity and oleophobicity, so re-application is not recommended.
6. Curing: After spraying, the surface should be dry for 1 hour, the touch should be dry for more than 2 hours, and the actual drying time should be more than 24 hours. It can also be cured quickly by heating (keeping warm at 180℃ for 20 minutes).

Product Storage:

1. Storage must comply with national regulations. The storage environment should be dry, cool, well-ventilated, and away from heat and ignition sources. The packaging container must be kept tightly closed and carefully stored.
2. The storage temperature should be maintained between 5°C and 30°C. The shelf life is 6 months.
3. Opened but unused paint must be sealed and stored.
4. Mixed but unused paint cannot be recycled and must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
5. Products that have exceeded their expiration date may only be used after passing testing.
