EK-S03 methylhydrogensilazane is suitable for modification and coating of resins to improve high temperature resistance, thermal shock resistance, weather resistance, corrosion resistance, adhesion and high hardness, with a maximum resistance of 1000℃
EK-S03 Introduction:
EK-S03 methylhydrogensilazane is a polymer with a backbone composed of Si—N bonds. Due to its unique structure, it can be converted into SiCNO, SiCN, or silica ceramics under high temperature conditions, making it an important precursor for the preparation of Si—C—N ceramics.
The Si—H bonds provide active sites for hydrosilylation, making them useful for modifying resins containing unsaturated olefins. Both Si—N and Si—H bonds react readily with hydroxyl-containing substances, making them useful as amine curing agents. They can also be used to modify hydroxyl-containing resins, such as phenolic resins, epoxy resins, alkyd resins, and acrylic resins, to improve their temperature and weather resistance.
Applicable substrates:
Carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, high-temperature alloy steel, glass-ceramic panels, ceramics, cement, and other materials.
Applicable temperature:
The maximum temperature resistance is 600°C, and it can be used for extended periods at 350°C.
When compounded with heat-resistant nanofillers, the resulting coating can withstand direct erosion from flames or high-temperature airflow.
Depending on the heat resistance of the substrate, the coating’s heatresistance will vary, including resistance to thermal shock and cold shock.
(Note: Different substrates may have different product specifications).

Special Note:
This product is a one-component, heat-curing product. Once opened, use the coating within 24 hours. During extended application periods, tools should be cleaned to prevent caking. It is recommended that the coating be applied in one coat, with a dry film thickness not exceeding 15µm. Otherwise, coating performance may be compromised.
Standard Application Procedure:
Surface Cleaning → Roughening → Cleaning and Blowing → EK-S03 Treatment → Curing
Process Description:
1. Roughening: Before coating, polish or sandblast the substrate surface to remove rust, dust, and dirt adhering to the surface. Roughening significantly affects the coating quality. Ideally, Sa2.5 and St3 grades should be free of scale (GB/T 30790.4-2014), so please pay close attention.
2. Cleaning: Use a dedicated cleaning agent or degreasing agent to remove any remaining oil, dust, and other contaminants on the roughened surface.
3. Substrate Drying: Before coating, ensure the substrate surface is dry and clean.
4. Paint Mixing: This product is a single-component product. Filter through a 120-mesh filter as needed.
5. Paint Application: Laboratory spraying with a 1.0-caliber spray gun provides optimal appearance and uniformity. The cured coating exhibits a certain degree of hydrophobicity and oleophobicity, so re-application is not recommended.
6. Curing: After spraying, allow the surface to dry for 10 minutes, then heat-cure at 180°C for 60 minutes (for coatings below 400°C), or heat-cure at 250°C for 60 minutes (for coatings above 400°C).
Product Storage:
1. Storage must comply with national regulations. The storage environment should be dry, cool, well-ventilated, and away from heat and ignition sources. The packaging container must be kept tightly closed and carefully stored.
2. The storage temperature should be maintained between 5°C and 30°C. The shelf life is 6 months.
3. Opened but unused paint must be sealed and stored.
4. Mixed but unused paint cannot be recycled and must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
5. Products that have exceeded their expiration date may only be used after passing testing.
