How this grade works and where it fits — exact parameters are defined in the TDS.

This product uses room-temperature-curing polysilazane as the film-forming binder, with copper chromite black powder, phosphates, inorganic silicon powder and other fillers. The coating withstands temperatures above 600 °C, offers high hardness, a dense waterproof film, resistance to acid and salt-spray corrosion, and resistance to aging. As a high-temperature coating based on a novel organic–inorganic hybrid system, the product combines multiple composite materials, including high-temperature molecular materials, anti-rust fillers, ultrafine powders and an organic polymer dispersion. After curing, the particles and resin pack densely and the finish shows a moderate gloss. The raw materials are mainly ionic compounds; on curing they form covalent bonds with the substrate, and this chemical bonding greatly increases the mechanical strength of the coating.

Typical applications: (1) electric heaters, boiler components, piping, valves, heat exchangers, radiators; (2) high-temperature devices and high-temperature sensor components; (3) metallurgical equipment surfaces, mold surfaces, casting equipment surfaces; (4) electric heating elements, tanks, enclosures; (5) small household appliances and kitchenware (burner caps, rice cookers), etc.; (6) high-temperature components in the chemical and metallurgical industries.

Service temperature. Maximum withstand temperature 800 °C; suitable for long-term service at 600 °C, resistant to flame and high-temperature gas-flow scouring. Note: the coating formulation differs depending on the substrate; within a certain range, it can be adjusted to match the substrate and its service conditions.

Storage, packaging & transport

  • Store in accordance with national regulations. The storage environment should be dry, cool and well ventilated, away from heat and ignition sources. Containers must be kept tightly sealed and placed with care.

  • Storage temperature must be maintained between 5 °C and 30 °C; shelf life is 6 months.

  • Opened but unused coating must be resealed tightly in its container for storage.

  • Mixed coating that has not been used up cannot be reclaimed and must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

  • Product past its shelf life may be used only after testing confirms it still meets specification.

Standard process: Surface cleaning → Abrasive roughening → Cleaning and blow-off → EK-D04 treatment → Curing

  • Abrasive roughening. Before coating, sand or blast the substrate surface to remove rust, dust, dirt and other contamination adhering to the workpiece surface. Surface roughening has a significant effect on coating performance; Sa2.5 is optimal, and the minimum is St3 with no mill scale (GB/T 30790.4-2014), so pay close attention to this step.

  • Cleaning. Use a dedicated cleaner or degreaser to remove residual oil, dust and other contamination from the roughened surface.

  • Substrate drying. Before coating, ensure the substrate surface is dry and clean.

  • Coating mixing. This product is two-component; take the appropriate amounts of coating at the specified mixing ratio, stir until thoroughly and uniformly mixed, and filter through a 300-mesh screen before use.

  • Coating application. For laboratory spray application, a spray gun with a 1.0 mm nozzle gives better appearance and uniformity.

  • Curing. After spraying, for room-temperature curing: surface-dry in 1 hour, touch-dry in more than 2 hours, through-dry in more than 24 hours. Rapid heat curing is also possible (hold at 180 °C for 20 minutes).

Note: This product is a two-component room-temperature-curing product; mixed coating must be used within 6 hours. During longer interruptions in application, clean the application tools thoroughly to prevent them from setting solid. Application in a single spray pass is recommended, with a dry film thickness not exceeding 50 µm; otherwise coating film performance will be reduced.
