The material

How this grade works and where it fits — exact parameters are defined in the TDS.

This product uses polysilazane as the film-forming binder, compounded with high-temperature ceramic fillers, ultrafine powders, plasticizing fillers and other components. After high-temperature curing it converts into an inorganic ceramic composite coating. The high-temperature conversion forms a Si-C-N ceramic structure, producing a dense, ultra-high-temperature-resistant coating on metal substrates that withstands long-term service in 1000 °C environments without cracking, flaking or discolouration. Abrasion-resistant, with dense corrosion protection.

Application fields: 1. Boiler components, petrochemical blast furnaces, inner and outer walls of hot-blast stoves, chimneys, flues, exhaust pipes; 2. High-temperature devices and high-temperature sensor components; 3. Surfaces of metallurgical equipment, moulds and foundry equipment; 4. Electric heating elements, tanks, enclosures, heat exchangers, radiators; 5. Small household appliances and kitchenware (burner caps, electric rice cookers), etc.; 6. High-temperature components in the chemical and metallurgical industries.

Choose this grade for the 800 °C ceramic system without an oven: cures at room temperature (<24 h) or 260 °C, keeping the ≥8H / ≥1000 h salt-spray profile.

Service temperature. With nitrogen-atmosphere curing, the maximum withstand temperature is 1300 °C (limited by the metal substrate); suitable for long-term service at 1000 °C (limited by the metal substrate); withstands long-term flame or high-temperature gas-flow scouring. The coating's temperature resistance varies with the temperature capability of the substrate (note: product performance differs according to the substrate).

310S stainless steel, 316 stainless steel and similar high-temperature alloy steels. Note: the coating formulation differs according to the substrate; within a certain range it can be adjusted to match the substrate and its service conditions.

Storage, packaging & transport

  • Store in accordance with national regulations in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place, away from heat and ignition sources. Keep packaging containers tightly closed and place them with care.

  • Maintain the storage temperature between 10 °C and 30 °C; the shelf life is 12 months.

  • Once opened, reseal containers tightly to store any unused coating.

  • Mixed coating that is not used up cannot be reclaimed; dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.

  • Product past its shelf life may be used only after testing confirms it still conforms.

Standard process: Surface cleaning → abrasive roughening → cleaning and blow-off → spray/blade application → curing

  • Abrasive roughening. Before coating, sand or blast the substrate surface to remove rust, dust, dirt and other contamination adhering to the workpiece. Surface roughening has a major influence on coating performance: Sa2.5 is optimal and St3 with no mill scale is the minimum (GB/T 30790.4-2014), so give this step full attention.

  • Cleaning. Use a dedicated cleaner or degreaser to remove oil, dust and other residues remaining on the roughened surface.

  • Substrate drying. Before coating, ensure the substrate surface is dry and clean.

  • Coating mixing. This is a two-component product: measure out the required quantity at the specified mixing ratio, stir until thoroughly homogeneous, and filter through a 180-mesh screen before use.

  • Coating application. For laboratory spray application, a spray gun with a 1.0 nozzle orifice gives better appearance and uniformity.

  • Curing. Air curing gives temperature resistance up to 700 °C; nitrogen-atmosphere curing gives a maximum temperature resistance of 1300 °C (contact us for nitrogen-curing conditions).

Note: This is a two-component heat-curing product; use the mixed coating within 12 hours. Over longer application periods, clean application tools thoroughly to prevent them from setting up. Dry film thickness should not exceed 35 µm; otherwise film performance will be reduced.
