EK-D15 is an anticorrosive coating resistant to high and low temperatures — a new anticorrosive coating with excellent performance, two-component, and a semi-permanent service life. Compared with conventional coatings, it offers many distinctive properties: heavy-duty corrosion protection, high/low temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, impact resistance, and electrical insulation (the paint film has insulating properties). The main chain segments use a fluorosilicone polymer, partially end-capped with reactive isocyanate (NCO) groups, and the reactive groups are additionally encapsulated. In use, the presence of oxygen in the air releases the reactive groups, which then form stronger chemical bonds with the polar surface of the protected material while chain-extending and crosslinking on their own, forming an interpenetrating polymer network (PIN).
Because viscosity is low in the initial low-molecular-weight stage, the coating penetrates the protected material and fills the pits on its surface, achieving a firm bond between the anticorrosive material and the protected substrate and ultimately forming a dense surface layer.

Service temperature. Service temperature and environment: this grade offers good acid and alkali resistance as well as electrical insulation and voltage withstand capability, with good durability in acid, alkali, salt, and organic-solvent media. It operates stably over the long term at -50 °C to 280 °C; specially treated versions withstand high temperatures above 400 °C.

Storage, packaging & transport
Store in accordance with national regulations. The storage environment must be dry, cool, and well ventilated, away from heat and ignition sources. Keep packaging containers tightly sealed and handle with care.
Maintain a storage temperature of 5–30 °C; the shelf life is 6 months.
Once opened, containers of unused coating must be tightly resealed with the lid for storage.
Mixed coating that is not used up cannot be reclaimed; dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.
Product past its shelf life may be used only after testing confirms it still meets specification.

Standard process: Surface cleaning → Abrasive roughening → Cleaning and blow-off → EK-D15 application → Curing
Abrasive roughening. Before coating, sand or abrasive-blast the substrate surface to remove rust, dust, dirt, and other contaminants adhering to the workpiece surface. Surface roughening has a major influence on coating performance: Sa2.5 is optimal and St3 with no mill scale is the minimum (GB/T 30790.4-2014), so pay close attention to this step.
Cleaning. Use a dedicated cleaner or degreaser to remove oil, dust, and other residues remaining on the roughened surface.
Substrate drying. Before coating, ensure the substrate surface is dry and clean.
Coating mixing. If two-component, measure out the required amounts at the specified ratio, stir until thoroughly and uniformly mixed, and filter through a 300-mesh screen before use.
Coating application. For laboratory spray application, a spray gun with a 1.0 nozzle orifice gives better appearance and uniformity.
Curing. Curing time is closely related to film thickness, curing temperature, and forced-air velocity. At a given thickness and air velocity, the approximate relationship between surface-dry time and temperature is as follows: under normal temperature and humidity (temperature 20 ± 15 °C, relative humidity 65 ± 20% RH) and without added curing agent, the surface-dry time is about 6 hours; about 5 hours at 30 °C; about 4 hours at 40 °C; about 3 hours at 50 °C. (Note: when the surface-dry time falls below 3 hours, the risk of quality defects increases correspondingly. Also pay attention to the gradient of the heating curve — going directly to a high-temperature state immediately after application will impair coating quality.)
Note: This is a primer-plus-topcoat, room-temperature-curing product; use the mixed coating within 3 hours. During longer breaks in application, clean application tools thoroughly to prevent them from setting up. Application in a single spray pass is recommended, with a dry film thickness not exceeding 200 µm; otherwise coating film performance will decline. Note: with the two-component primer + topcoat system, wet-on-wet application of primer and topcoat gives better results — that is, spray the topcoat directly onto the first primer coat before it becomes surface-dry, so as not to impair adhesion. For heavy-duty anticorrosion service, one primer coat and two topcoats may be applied.
