This product uses polyborosilazane as the film-forming substance. Cured in an air atmosphere, it can be used for self-cleaning anticorrosion coating systems for service below 200 °C, with a pencil hardness above 6H; it is suitable for voltage-withstanding electrical-insulation coatings, wear-resistant refractory coatings, hydrophobic self-cleaning anti-aging coatings for outdoor use, and as a ceramic resin-based precursor material. Cured in a nitrogen atmosphere, it can be used for high-hardness anticorrosion coating systems for service above 850 °C; formulated with high-temperature molecular materials, anti-rust fillers, ultrafine powders, organic polymer dispersions and other composite materials, the dense coating can withstand temperatures above 1000 °C.

Service temperature. Cured in an air atmosphere, the coating is suitable for outdoor service at temperatures below 200 °C and for short-term high-temperature service at 400 °C. Cured in a nitrogen atmosphere, it is suitable for heat-resistant service at temperatures above 850 °C and for short-term high-temperature service at 1000 °C. Depending on the temperature resistance of the substrate, the temperature resistance of the coating varies accordingly; the coating withstands hot-cold cycling and thermal shock (note: the product supplied differs according to the substrate).

Carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, high-temperature alloy steels, glass-ceramic panels, ceramics, cement and similar materials are all suitable. Note: the coating formulation differs according to the substrate; within a certain range, it can be adjusted and matched to the specific substrate and its service conditions.
Storage, packaging & transport
Store in accordance with national regulations. The storage environment should be dry, cool and well ventilated, away from heat and ignition sources. Packaging containers must be kept tightly sealed and placed with care.
The storage temperature should be maintained between 5 °C and 30 °C; the shelf life is 6 months.
Opened, partially used coating must be stored with the container lid tightly resealed.
Prepared coating that has not been used up cannot be reclaimed; dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.
Product past its shelf life may be used only after testing confirms it conforms to specification.

Standard process: Surface cleaning → abrasive roughening → cleaning and blowing off → EK-S06 treatment → curing
Abrasive roughening. Before coating, sand or blast the substrate surface to remove rust, dust, dirt and other contaminants adhering to the surface of the workpiece. Surface roughening has a considerable influence on coating performance: Sa2.5 is optimal, and the minimum is St3 with no mill scale (GB/T 30790.4-2014), so pay close attention to this step.
Cleaning. Use a dedicated cleaning agent or degreaser to remove oil, dust and other residues remaining on the abrasively roughened surface.
Substrate drying. Before coating, ensure that the substrate surface is dry and clean.
Coating preparation. The product is one-component; take the required quantity and filter it through a 120-mesh screen before use.
Coating application. For laboratory spraying, a spray gun with a 1.0 orifice gives better appearance and uniformity. After curing, the coating is somewhat hydrophobic and oleophobic, so recoating (applying repeat coats) is not recommended.
Curing. After spraying, room-temperature curing reaches through-dry in more than 24 hours; rapid curing by heating at 85 to 180 °C is also possible. Curing in a nitrogen atmosphere requires a ramped heating profile; please contact us for details.
Note: This product is a one-component self-curing product; coating that has been dispensed should be used within 4 hours. During longer breaks in application, clean the application tools thoroughly to prevent them from setting solid. It is recommended to complete spraying in a single pass, with a dry film thickness not exceeding 150 µm; otherwise the coating film performance will decline.
