The material

How this grade works and where it fits — exact parameters are defined in the TDS.

Hexamethylcyclotrisilazane is a six-membered ring of alternating silicon and nitrogen atoms. The material hydrolyses readily: contact with moisture forms silanol and releases ammonia. Close the container immediately after use and work in a well-ventilated area. Opening the ring is the route to high-molecular-weight polysilazanes, which is what makes this grade a starting material rather than a finished product.

Choose this grade to build your own polysilazane by ring-opening polymerisation, or as a methyl-functional crosslinker. For vinyl functionality — radical and hydrosilylation chemistry — use EK-S8002 instead.
