The material

How this grade works and where it fits — exact parameters are defined in the TDS.

Hexamethyldisilazane is a colourless transparent liquid, soluble in organic solvents. On contact with air it is rapidly hydrolysed to trimethylsilanol and hexamethyldisiloxane, so containers must be kept closed. The grade is specified for ultra-high purity with low silanol and low siloxane content and a chloride level at or below 10 ppm, which is what makes it usable in pharmaceutical synthesis and in semiconductor processing.

Choose this grade where purity governs the result — pharmaceutical intermediates and semiconductor processing, where the ≥99.5% assay and ≤10 ppm chloride specification matter more than price. Note the closed-cup flash point of 11.4 °C: this is a Class 3 dangerous good and needs corresponding handling and shipping.
